WISI Communications from Germany will propose a compact transmodulator OM 20 064S. It is part of the OM microstation series and is a new variant intended for reception, filtering, decryption and retransmission in IPTV networks of TV programs coming from DVB-S/S2/S2X signal sources.
The OM 20 064S is a station with 4 RF inputs that can be connected to six DVB-S /S2/S2X satellite tuners via the integrated 4 by 6 matrix, compatible with DiSEqC 1.0. Thus, up to 4 different satellites can be received (one band of your choice, from each). One of the strengths of this equipment is the four CI interfaces for decrypting pay TV programs. OM 20, like the OM 10 or OM 11 variants, offers the possibility of multiplexing programs before or after the CI interfaces, the beneficiary being able to centrally combine encrypted TV programs from different frequencies, which he can decrypt with compatible smartcards and CAMs. In addition, unwanted programs can be removed from the received frequencies and the number of outgoing IPs can be reduced. In practice, a filtering of the programs that want to be retransmitted in IP is carried out. As the title suggests, this station is an IP streamer, which means that the OM 20 064S outputs programs in IP format via one of the RJ 45 connectors. More precisely, it can transmit a maximum of 128 SPTS with variable bit rate (VBR ) but with a maximum net data transfer rate of 400 Mbps. The supported IP output protocols are UDP, RTP, Unicast and Multicast, and the IP packet format is "MPEG over UDP/IP and RTP/IP". Of course, the station also offers the possibility to manually select the output IP addresses. In addition, the OM 20 064S automatically generates M3U tables for much easier integration into a distribution network. This station offers various TS (transport stream) processing functions, among which we mention: "TS stuffing", "advanced PSI/SI regeneration", "NIT handling", "PID filtering and remapping" or "PCR correction and de- jitter".
Using the USB or LAN interface we have the possibility to insert video clips made in TS format. Thus, as an example: hotel operators and more can offer their own informative TV channels (advertisements, offers, events, etc.). The OM 20 064S includes a DHCP server and a Bluetooth module. The DHCP server enables quick integration into an existing local network. The Bluetooth interface allows direct connection to the OM 20 with a smart phone or tablet. All settings can be saved as external files so that different configurations can be restored at any time. Another great advantage is the fact that programming, maintenance, software updating or changing the program grid can be done remotely, without the need for the operator to travel to the location where the headend is located. This is possible through a web browser (Chrome, Mozilla, etc.), an Internet connection and the RJ45 connector for management.
